LIST: See Names and Salaries of Museveni’s Most Highly Paid Advisors Earning Between Shs24m and Shs10m

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has a number of advisors. While the number of Museveni’s advisors keeps changing, in this report, The Pearl Times, shares the list with names and salaries of Museveni’s most highly paid advisors earning between Shs24m and Shs10m.

We will also include other notable Museveni advisors who earn below Shs10m. Museveni’s presidential advisors earn differently (depending on their terms of reference and other factors).

Some of Museveni’s most highly paid advisors are his former ministers and other members of cabinet or heads of government departments and agencies.

Former vice presidents Gilbert Bukenya and Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi as well as former prime ministers Amama Mbabazi and Ruhakana Rugunda earn Shs20m each every month.

These four already have juicy retirement packages, but have stable presidential advisor salaries to take them through their retirement as they ‘advise’ President Museveni on how to steer Uganda forward.

Former minister Ephraim Kamuntu and former Electoral Commission (EC) chairman Badru Kiggundu earn Shs15m, each, and do does Proscovia Nalweyiso and Museveni son-in-law Odrek Rwabwogo Mugisha.

The list, obtained by The Pearl Times, includes at least 56 presidential advisors, most of them earning millions of tax payers’ money every month.

In fact up to 24 of the Museveni advisors earn Shs10m and above every month.

The Pearl Times would like to note that this list is not exhaustive as it seems the president can appoint anyone presidential advisor whenever he wants – and provided there is a budget to pay them.

For example, a few years ago, Museveni appointed an advisor on Ankole cows and other indigenous cattle breeds, as reported Here.

Months ago, President Museveni also appointed singer Edirisah Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo his advisor on creatives, as reported Here and There.

There have also been jokes that Museveni rarely meets his advisors, and that even when he meets them, it is he who advises them, as reported Here.
