Parliament’s Appointments Committee has been constituted to vet new ministers that have been appointed by President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni for the 2026-2031 term of office. In this report, we present the list of men and women who will vet Museveni’s new ministers.
Appointments Committee of Parliament will interact with the new ministers in a vetting process starting Monday, 01 June 2026.
Parliament’s Appointments Committee is chaired by the speaker. In total, there are 39 members of Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
The ruling NRM party has 26 members, including the speaker and the deputy speaker, while the opposition has nine MPs on the committee. There are also four independents on the committee.
