Kampala, Uganda – June 22, 2026: The Ministry of Education and Sports, throughtThe Education Service Commission (ESC), has released the official list of successful candidates appointed as Acting Headteachers in government secondary schools under the Ministry of Education and Sports, marking a key step in strengthening school leadership structures across the country.
In a notice issued on June 22, 2026, the Commission confirmed that the appointments follow a formal submission from the Ministry of Education and Sports referenced ADM 092/308/04 dated May 11, 2026.
The candidates had earlier appeared before the Commission on June 8, 2026, as part of the selection and verification process.
The notice, signed by Kaaya Mohammed on behalf of the Secretary of the Education Service Commission, instructed all appointed personnel to report to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports to receive their official appointment letters.
“The personnel whose names appear on the attached lists should report to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports for issuance of appropriate letters,” the Commission stated.
The appointments were made in accordance with Articles 167, 168, and 172 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (1995), which guide public service and education sector governance.
The move is expected to improve administrative stability and leadership effectiveness in government secondary schools nationwide, many of which have been operating under interim leadership arrangements.
