For a second time this month, the X account of the Ugandan first son (long serving president Yoweri Museveni’s male child) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba went off. As Muhoozi X account disappears, there are questions on what’s happening to its safety and why the controversial posts?
In the first instance, Gen Muhoozi said Jesus had told him to leave X, formerly Twitter, so as to concentrate on his duties in the national army, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
By the time, he took that break days ago, his account had hit one million followers. But when it came back, it had a few thousand followers that kept fluctuating.
In the evening of January 17, Muhoozi’s account disappeared, just like the Bachwezi that the first son is always happy to associate himself with as a descendant.
His staunch supporter and junior minister youth and children affairs Balaam Barugahara said the account went off due to “a suspected hijack by haters.”
“We’ll deeply miss our supreme leader, Gen [Muhoozi Kainerugaba], as our favorite X account faces a suspected hijack by haters. But their malicious actions won’t dampen our love and determination to stand by him forever,” wrote Barugahara.
“Our loyalty and admiration for Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba remain unwavering. We love Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for life.”
It should be remembered that when Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba took a break from X recently, another of his staunch supporters Andrew Mwenda said he would host a podcast with Museveni’s son as an alternative, as reported Here.
Meanwhile, before his X account disappeared like the Bachwezi, Muhoozi had announced changes to Besigye hanging date, and threatened to arrest MPs for summoning him to explain his reckless X posts on killing his father’s opponents. (See Details Here and There).
