There have been reports of some buses over speeding on roads across the country’s roads. Some of them reportedly pass police checkpoints at which they allegedly bribe traffic police officers.
Some passengers have previously complained that some drivers do not listen to calls on them to reduce the speed.
Such behaviors have sparked debates on the reinstatement on a policy for installation of speed governors, and strict enforcement of rules on routine inspection of vehicles, and refresher training for drivers.
Recently, a car accident killed 13 people, most of them members of the same clan returning from a Kwanjula ceremony, as reported Here.
This weekend, a Gateway Bus overturned in Muhanga in Rukiga District, leaving at least 11 people seriously injured, as reported Here.
