A section of Ugandans have started Project Katumba Wamala to front former UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen Katumba Wamala as a possible successor to President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, and opponent to the son of the head-of-state.
Gen Katumba Wamala, who previously served as police chief, is the current works and transport minister.
A poster circulating on social media talks of ‘Project Katumba Wamala’ which will be officially unveiled on his birthday party.
The General’s birthday bash is scheduled for November 19, 2022.
The people behind the ‘Project Katumba Wamala’ say he is their ‘Beacon of Hope.’
Last year, Gen Katumba Wamala survived an assassination attempt, but his daughter and driver were killed by assailants. (Read Story Here).
The rumored preparations for Gen Katumba Wamala’s birthday bash and the launch of his project come days after first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba celebrated his 48th birthday.
On April 23, Kainerugaba held a birthday party at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
At the party, Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also the Commander of UPDF Land Forces, unveilled his plan for Ugandan youth. (Read Story Here).
Earlier, Muhoozi had addressed those who participated in a marathon to honor him. The first son said the country was on fire because of him. (Read Story Here).

Also attending the birthday dinner was Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
