FULL LIST: See Names of Students Admitted to Kyambogo University on Government Sponsorship for 2023-2024 Academic Year

Kyambogo University (KyU) has released the list of students admitted to pursue various courses or academic programs under the national merit scheme of government sponsorship starting in the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

The list was prepared by Dr Annie Begumisa, the University Academic Registrar, and approved by Prof Eli Katunguka Rwakishaya, the Vice Chancellor and Chairperson of the Kyambogo University Admissions Board.

The list includes 370 students from various secondary schools across the country. The national merit sponsorship goes to candidates who excelled in their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams administered by assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb).

Most of the students that were admitted to Kyambogo on government sponsorship, as is the case with most of the public universities, are from established traditional and private schools, a number of them in urban centres and charging high school fees.

The 370 students awarded government scholarships at Kyambogo University will pursue degrees in at least 40 courses or academic programs starting in the next academic year which begins in August 2023.

Lists showing students admitted under other government sponsorship schemes such as the District Quota system are expected soon.

Meanwhile, Makerere University has released the list of students admitted under government sponsorship national scheme for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. Also, as we have reported, 600 of the students admitted at Makerere University have been given sponsorships to pursue expired courses. (See Lists Here and There).
