A former NTV Uganda reporter has joined the US Navy, an arm of the US army responsible for military operations on the seas. Maurice Ochol used to report for the Serena Hotel-based television station before landing greener pastures.
A senior parliamentary and political reporter at NTV Uganda at the time he left the station, Maurice Ochol joined the US Navy in a cohort that included some black Americans.
Now a serving officer of the US Navy, Maurice Ochol has been receiving congratulatory messages from his former colleagues at NTV Uganda and other Ugandan reporters.
“Congratulations Maurice Ochol on this great achievement. Wish you the best in the US Navy. We who worked with you NTV Uganda are proud of you,” wrote Williams Kato, for whom Ochol was a colleague at the Nation Media Group (NMG) owned television station.
“I can’t hold it but to congratulate my man, Maurice Ochol, on choosing to be where you belong, to serve in the US Navy Force. Congratulations bro, smooth sailing our newest Navy. Fair winds and following seas, Non sibi sed patriae,” wrote Moses Walugembe, who formerly worked for NBS TV.
Maurice Ochol is one of former NTV Uganda’s reporters who have gone to greater heights after quitting their reporter jobs.
The latest was a reporter who recently landed a juicy job with a UN agency, as reported Here.
