Former NTV Uganda reporter Joyce Diana Nakato has landed a juicy job with a UN agency days after she announced she was leaving one of the leading television stations in the country.
Nakato had spent eight years at NTV Uganda and Spark TV Uganda, both under Nation Media Group. But on September 27, she announced that she was leaving the stations for a new job.
“For the last 8 years, NTV Uganda, Spark TV have been home. It’s here that I have told stories close and dear to my heart, met and worked with some of the most wonderful people. And today, as I close this chapter, I am filled with nothing but gratitude,” announced Joyce Diana Nakato.
“As I move into the next chapter of my professional journey, I leave behind a formidable team, working to continue changing the media landscape. It has been my greatest honor to have been part of this journey.”
Now, Joyce Diana Nakato has confirmed that she has been appointed as a communications associate at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Uganda.
IOM describes itself as the leading Intergovernmental organization dealing with migration. IOM has been working in Uganda since 1988.
“I am honored to join IOM in Uganda as a Communications Associate,” Joyce Diana Nakato announced.
“In this new role, I hope to shine a light on Uganda’s efforts towards promoting humane and orderly migration that not only benefits the migrants, but also the country.”
