Former MP Frank Nabwiso Cause of Death Revealed

Former Kagoma County MP Dr Frank Nabwiso has died. Dr Frank Nabwiso was pronounced dead at Mukono Hospital at about 10am on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Aged 84, Nabwiso is survived by six biological children and three adopted ones as well as a widow, Christine Kagoya Nabwiso.

He was a member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a party deeply divided and on the verge of decline at the time of his death.

A holder of a Grade III certificate from the Kyambogo National Teachers’ College, Nabwiso would move on to Makerere University where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science in 1967.

The following year, he earned a scholarship at United Kingdom’s University of Sussex, earning a Master’s Degree in African Development Studies.

A year after Museveni took power, Nabwiso became the Executive Director of Uganda Export Promotion Council. He was later appointed Director of the Uganda AIDS Commission.

He became Kagoma County MP in 2001.

In 2008, he became secretary of the Inter Party Cooperation, a coalition of major Ugandan opposition parties.

His family says he had been suffering from pneumonia. He had been receiving treatment for the same since November 2024.
