I would like to put it to Ugandans that the current inflation we are experiencing is a GLOBAL PHENOMENON. It is largely IMPORTED INFLATION, caused by three factors namely: 1. Disruption in supply chains of oil products, leading to rise in prices of fuel (petrol, diesel) and gas; 2. The Russian-Ukraine conflict was unleashed on February 24 2022 to date; 3. Climate change results in drought and crop failure, hence driving HEADLINE INFLATION. The net effect of these three factors has been the soaring prices of goods and services.

In his third address since the outbreak — and the second one this week — Gen Museveni issued at least 24 directives on preventing the Ebola Virus Disease.

Today I do not want to fully address our strategies going forward but suffice it to note that we will be pursuing ALL CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL OPTIONS available to us.  We will do so because we regard the many flaws in the elections and the wrongs committed by IEBC as FATAL to the process and the outcome announced by Mr. Chebukati.

One thing may be said to be true. Uganda’s politics under the reign of President Tibuhaburwa Museveni has no truly functional Opposition. It is about Positions. People from the Opposition operate as if everything is OK and have no problem gaining Positions in the NRM Government at the expense of the traditional members. Accordingly, they are supporting President Tibuhaburwa to extend and entrench his hegemony over Uganda well into the future. For God and My Country.
