A leading official of the Democratic Party has revealed that the recently signed cooperation deal agreement between Norbert Mao and President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni will see the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) support DP to replace Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s National Unity Platform (NUP) as the main opposition party by 2026.

National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has fired back at first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for hinting at a presidential showdown between them. 

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has spoken out on reports that he used Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s recently concluded birthday celebrations to unveil his son as his preferred successor, and to prepare him for a possible run in 2026.
