Main opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi has joined several people in mourning Kampala Woman MP Shamim Malende’s father Jamal Ahmed Sebuta Malende.
Mzee Sebuta Malende was pronounced dead in the morning of Saturday, June 14, 2025.
“Lost my bilological father JAMAL AHMED SEBUTA MALENDE. Inna lilaahi wa-inna ilaihi raajuun,” an announcement posted on Shamim Malende’s account read.
Bobi Wine said he was saddened by the news of the passing of Mzee Sebuta Malende, describing the demise of the first time legislator’s father as a “great loss.”
“We have learnt with great sadness about the passing of Hon. Shamim Malende’s father, Mzee Jamal Ahmed Sebuta Malende,” he wrote.
“Deepest condolences to Hon. Malende and her entire family on this great loss. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
The news of Sebuta Malende found the MP recovering from sickness she has battled for months now.
Recently, leader of opposition in parliament Joel Ssenyonyi and other MP, including Flavia Kalule Nabagabe, Betty Nambooze Bakireke, Patrick Nsamba Oshabe, Derrick Nyeko and Betty Ethel Naluyima checked on Shamim Malende.
