‘Bobi Wine Has Done Nothing; Even Katumba Oyee is Better than Him & NUP’ – FDC Boss

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi has criticized Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his National Unity Platform (NUP) for doing nothing as the main opposition political party.

In the 2021 parliamentary elections, NUP eclipsed FDC as the main opposition party after getting more MP seats, most of them from Bobi Wine’s home sub-region of Buganda.

But the war of words between leaders and supporters of the two parties has raged on.

Now, Mafabi has accused NUP and Bobi Wine of doing nothing when Ugandans are suffering and when the Museveni regime continues to entrench itself.

Mafabi says that NUP had been complaining that FDC was not doing enough to push out Museveni.

That while FDC has given NUP the space it needs to do what it had planned to do for Ugandans, the Kamwokya-based party has done nothing so far.

Also the Budadiri West MP, Mafabi also suggested that even John Katumba aka Katumba Oyee, the youngest 2021 presidential candidate, was attempting to do more than NUP and Bobi Wine.

“We have given NUP space to work because they thought we were doing nothing. What is Kyagulanyi doing? What are his people doing?” he wondered while appearing on NBS on January 18.

“They said we were massaging Museveni. Even former presidential candidate John Katumba has come out asking for permission to conduct a peaceful demonstration [over skyrocketing fuel prices].”

Recently, there have been reports of internal strife within NUP. But the party has dismissed these claims.

Also, imprisoned MPs Muhammad Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana reportedly complained that they had been betrayed. (Read story here).
