Fellow Ugandans,
As we stand at the brink of a new chapter in our nation’s history, I urge you to join me in a collective cry to heaven every Monday of the week.
Our beloved country, blessed with abundant resources and rich soil, is crying out for divine intervention.
The current state of affairs – marked by corruption, unemployment, questionable acts of injustice to citizens, and erosion of democratic principles – demands our attention and action.
As an aspiring leader, I am committed to guiding our nation towards a brighter future. However, I firmly believe that true change begins with a spiritual awakening.
That’s why I’m calling on all Ugandans to observe every Monday as a day of prayer for our country’s transition.
Let’s Pray For:
- Peaceful elections, free from bloodshed and violence.
- A leader after God’s heart, who fears God and serves with integrity.
- Wisdom and courage for our citizens to participate in the electoral process.
- Protection from evil forces that seek to destabilize our nation through blood shed.
- God’s mercy and forgiveness for our collective sins.
How to Observe Monday Prayers
- Gather in prayer cells or small groups.
- Humble yourself in individual prayer. You can observe a fast or anyway that’s suitable for you. God listens to a short honest prayer as well.
- Party headquarters, academic institutions, and workplaces can hold short prayer sessions.
- Clergy can lead their congregations in prayer and encourage their flock to observe/participate every Mondays.
- Families can observe a moment of prayer after every meal on a daily basis besides a perpetual Monday prayer.
Let’s Unite in Prayer
As we embark on this journey of prayer, let’s remember that our actions are not limited to Mondays alone. We can:
- Encourage one another to vote and participate in the electoral process.
- Promote peace and calm during this electoral cycle.
- Pray for God’s mercy and healing for our land.
Scriptural Foundation
II Chronicles 7:14 NKJV serves as our guiding principle: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Let us humble ourselves, pray, and seek God’s face. Together, we can shape a brighter future for Uganda.
For God and my country,
Gerald Malinga, Aspiring Presidential Candidate of Uganda, 2026-2031
