SPECIAL MEALS! The Foods That Museveni — President Employing 90 Cooks — Eats for Breakfast, Lunch and Supper

Like most people, Uganda’s president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni enjoys certain foods and does not touch several others. Museveni is so picky with his food that it is safer to call what he eats special foods.

Employing some 90 cooks — to prepare meals for him, his family and his many guests — Museveni prefers local dishes to “European” meals.

The president also knows how to use diet to control his weight. In 2020, he lost about 30kg — from 106kg to 76kg — through dieting.

Currently aged 80 — half of which he has spent ruling Uganda — Museveni loves his cassava, millet and vegetables.

“I eat some cassava, because I don’t eat your European food and your Asian foods,” Museveni told the BBC in 2020 when he was asked about his weight loss.

“I eat our food — which is cassava, some bananas, millets and our vegetables.”

The president went on to reveal that his breakfast is normally light and that he skips lunch, resorting to water. The president sometimes takes some sugarless coffee for his lunch.

“I normally eat a little bit of that [local foods like cassava, bananas, millets and vegetables] in the morning. Then no lunch, I just drink water and coffee without sugar because it’s very bad — sugar is not good,” Museveni further told Newsday host Alan Kasujja then.

Museveni also talked about his supper. The head of state just takes two irish potatoes and plenty of vegetables and supper is done — just like that!

“… at around seven [PM], I eat two Irish potatoes because they have got low starch, and a lot of vegetables to deceive the stomach that I am putting there something when in fact it’s just the roughage,” he revealed.
