2026 & BEYOND: Muhoozi’s Friends Endorse Him for President

Hundreds of friends have resolved to support first son and Commander of UPDF Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for president in 2026.

On May 07, these friends of Muhoozi met at Entebbe Cricket Oval for thanksgiving event and closing party of Lt Gen Kainerugaba’s 48th birthday celebrations.

The celebrations, which have been held across the country, began in Bushenyi District on April 22 before a marathon was held in Kampala and a party at the Lugogo Cricket Oval the following day.

A dinner hosted by President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni in honor of his son and senior advisor on special operations happened at State House Entebbe the following day.

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda was the chief guest at the dinner. Kagame had not been in Uganda for some years due to the cold relations between Kampala and Kigali. But meetings between him and Kainerugaba had yielded fruits and the two brotherly nations were on a clear path to restoration of relations.

After about two weeks of parties in a number of towns across the country, Lt Gen Kainerugaba decided to close his 48th birthday celebrations with a thanksgiving and a party.

According to Kashambya County MP David Kabanda, the Assembly of Muhoozi’s friends that met at Entebbe have unanimously resolved to salute Kainerugaba and his father and to support the first son to become president in 2026.

“We, Comrades, Friends, and Brethren of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba gathered today 7th May 2022 in Entebbe, in celebration of his 48th Birthday unanimously; 1) Resolve to salute his extra ordinary and selfless contribution to our homeland Uganda and to Mother Africa,” Kabanda quoted the resolutions are reading in part.

“2). Further resolve to warmly salute and recognize the exemplary leadership abilities and skills the General has brought to every assignment he has been given by our belovedPresident, Mzee Yoweri Kaguta. 3). And pray for the Blessing and guidance of God Almighty and the Ugandan people upon him, as he prepares to shoulder heavier responsibilities now and the future under the guidance of the Fountain of Honour Mzee Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.”

Kabanda also quoted the final resolution as reading: “FINALLY: Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba shall be the next President of Uganda from 2026 and beyond.”

Meanwhile, Gen Katumba Wamala has spoken out on a plot by his supporters hold a Muhoozi-like birthday party. His supporters have told him not to be a coward, making it clear to him they will celebrate his birthday by force and unveil as their 2026 presidential candidate. (Read Story Here).
