Frank Gashumba Responds to Bobi Wine’s NUP Supporters’ Allegations that He ‘Sleeps’ With His Daughter Sheilah

Sisimuka Uganda Founder and CEO Frank Gashumba has blasted supporters of National Unity Platform (NUP) and its leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for claiming that he sleeps with his daughter Sheilah Carol Gashumba, an NBS TV presenter. 

Gashumba, a controversial political analyst hosted on a number of television and social media channels, recently angered NUP and Bobi Wine supporters after he argued that the main opposition political party’s leaders were only interested in fulfilling their selfish motives and not in ending President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s almost four-decade rule.

He further claimed that the struggle NUP was engaged in was that aimed at benefitting Bobi Wine and his close allies such as MP Joel Ssenyonyi, among others. Gashumba wondered why people who say they are in the struggle are always holding birthday parties, wedding and boat cruises when those who were imprisoned for ‘fighting for them’ are languishing in jails across the country.

Gashumba further argued that the only true opposition politician focused on removing Museveni from power was former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president and four-time presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye.

He says that while Besigye was arrested and detained at Naggalama Police Station several times, Bobi Wine has on many occasions been driven to his home where he comfortably watches television. He even cited an incident in December 2021 when security airlifted Bobi Wine to Kololo, before driving him to his home in Magere, Wakiso District.

Gashumba is a known supporter of first Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 2026 presidential project, and has since said that only death can stop Muhoozi from becoming Uganda’s next president and succeeding his 77-year-old father Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.

In response, some staunch NUP and Bobi Wine supporters responded by digging out Gashumba’s past record. They shared photos of him in handcuffs after he was arrested by operatives of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) in 2017. Gashumba was never convicted of the charges of impersonation.

NUP and Bobi Wine’s supporters also used the fact that Gashumba separated with his wife Tina Mukuza and has since not officially married another woman as the basis of the allegation that he sleeps with his daughter Sheilah.

They went as far as fabricating the cover page of Bukedde, a local Luganda newspaper, to claim that the publication had carried a story confirming that the political commentator was sleeping with his daughter. Unfortunately, some gullible Ugandans just believed the fake newspaper cover.

But Gashumba came out and accused NUP and Bobi Wine’s supporters of resorting to blackmail and character assassination after failing to counter the facts. He told the Kamwokya-based party to embrace debate instead of hatred, blackmail and character assassination.

“[I told you these clueless people are so afraid!] People who are intimidated by facts the resort to Character Assassination. And once they realize hating isn’t working they resort to blackmail. Character assassination has replaced debate debate in National unity platform,” said Gashumba.

Meanwhile, Bobi Wine has blasted NBS TV for attacking FDC party in a series of controversial special reports. Bobi said NBS TV is in bed with the Museveni regime. (Read Story Here).
