Uganda Police Force (UPF) has spoken out on gang violence by singer Alien Skin and his fellow singer Pallaso.
Unspecific in their statement, police simply said it “has observed a trend among musicians who are utilizing gangs to intimidate one another, leading to disorder and chaos at public events and entertainment functions.”
Police added that such behavior was not only “unacceptable” but also deserved to be condemned.
UPF then put musicians on notice.
“We hereby issue a stern warning that all individuals involved in these actions will be held responsible for their conduct,” it added.
Police has been criticized for taking their time to name and shame the gang leaders.
Some feel that if the ring leaders of these chaotic attacks belonged to the opposition group led by Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine, they would now have been arrested.
Earlier in the day, Minister Balaam Barugahara announced tough measures after Alien Skin Pallaso attacks shocked Uganda’s music industry, as reported Here.
Last month, Alien Skin attacked Bobi Wine’s NUP headquarters weeks after he joined hands with Kyagulanyi’s enemy Mathias Mpuuga in the so-called Alliance of Thieves. (See Details Here and There).
