Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has spoken out on reports that the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results were due to be released today, Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
There were some social media reports that Uneb would release the results on Tuesday.
But Uneb spokesperson Jennifer Kalule Musamba has rubbished these reports, making it clear that the assessment body was not set to release the results from last year’s PLE as reported.
“It has come to the attention of UNEB that there is fake news making rounds on social media to the effect that UNEB is set to release the 2022 PLE results, today January 24th, 2023. Please disregard this information as it is baseless and false,” said Uneb Principal Public Relations Officer Kalule Musamba on Tuesday morning.
So, when will the results be released? The Uneb spokesperson did not say when the assessment body plans to release the results but told members of the public, who include anxious candidates, parents and guardians, that communication will soon be made to that effect.
“The date for the official release of the results will be communicated at the appropriate time,” Kalule Musamba noted.
While Uneb executive secretary and director Dan Odongo had told Parliament’s education committee that the marking of PLE and of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) papers had been concluded and that the results would soon be released, the results did not come through as was widely expected last week.
But sources at Uneb have told this publication that all was being done to ensure that the PLE results are released this week. (Read Story HERE).
