The faces of four men accused of killing Joan Kagezi, a Senior Assistant DPP and Head of the International Crimes Department in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), have been revealed.
On the night of March 15, 2015, unknown men shot Kagezi in Kiwatule, Kampala. Kagezi was driving home.
Since then, there seemed to have been no inroads in following up on the men behind the murder.
But on Sunday, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni announced that security agencies had arrested four men believed to have been behind the assassination of the prosecutor.
The ODPP immediately announced that their director Jane Frances Abodo had sanctioned charges of murder and terrorism against the four suspected killers. (See Details Here).
Museveni identified the four as John Kibuuka, John Masajjage, Dan Kissekka and Abdalla Nasur. Their faces remained unknown until November 6, 2023 when they appeared before court.
The four appeared before Nakawa Court on charges of terrorism and the murder of Kagezi.
