GUIDELINES FOR TIME, REPORTING
- Teaching and learning should start promptly at the beginning of each school term, and the school terms should not be cut short without prior written permission from the Permanent Secretary,
- School starts at 8:00am and ends at 4:30pm for Primary schools; 8:00am to 12:00pm for pre-primary schools and 8:00am to 2:45pm for post primary (teachers/students contact time).
- All Headteachers of Boarding Schools, especially those in Kampala City Metropolitan area, should ensure that they stagger the starting dates for different classes over the week preceding the official opening and closing dates of the terms. This is intended to mitigate the inconveniences of traffic congestion.
- All school open-days, visitation days and other annual functions during the school term should be set by individual schools and institutions.
- School and institutions should sensitize parents and other stakeholders about the School Calendar.
