Tension is high on both sides after Justice Joseph Murangira of the High Court after efforts aimed at mediation and reconciliation of House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI) pastor Aloysius Bujjingo and his wife Teddy Naluswa collapsed.
In 2019, Bujjingo filed for divorce in the Kajjansi Magistrate court in Kampala.
But Teddy Naluswa rejected Bujjingo’s efforts to dissolve the marriage. Bujjingo has since replaced Teddy with Salt Media employee Suzan Makula Nantaba.
In April 2021, Justice Murangira recommended that the case be handled at mediation level, where a third party would bring the disagreeing parties together so they can reach an out-of-court resolution to the matter in question.
Bishop Joshua Lwere, the general overseer of the National Fellowship of the Born-again of the Pentecostal Churches of Uganda. and senior pastor of Grace Assembly was named mediator.
But Bujjingo’s lawyer Ronald Ruhinda accused Bishop Lwere of bias.
Unra executive director Allen Kagina is also said to have been named mediator but her efforts were futile too.
Now, Justice Murangira is expected to give his ruling in the divorce case on January 25.
