KAMPALA — Two employees of Next Media Services Ltd. have died following a road accident along Entebbe Road in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026, while another staff member remains in intensive care.
The deceased have been identified as Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye, according to a statement issued by Next Media management on Friday.
Their colleague, Brian “Makona” Ssemanda, survived the crash but sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
“Next Media confirms a road accident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026, along Entebbe Road, involving three members of staff: Badru Kasirye, Isaac Ndamagye, and Brian “Makona” Ssemanda,” the company said.
Next Media confirmed the deaths of Kasirye and Ndamagye, saying Ssemanda remains under close medical supervision.
“Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye unfortunately lost their lives in the accident. Brian “Makona” Ssemanda is in the Intensive Care Unit receiving treatment, under close watch from his medical team,” the statement reads.
The media company said it is maintaining direct contact with the hospital treating Ssemanda and will communicate further information about his condition as it becomes available.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including what caused the accident and whether other road users were involved, were not immediately provided in the statement.
The deaths have come as a major shock to colleagues, friends and relatives of the two staff members, while attention remains focused on Ssemanda’s recovery.
Next Media appealed for privacy for the affected families as they cope with the tragedy.
“We ask for privacy for the families, and for Brian and his family, as he continues treatment. Updates will follow as they are confirmed,” management said.
The accident adds to continuing concerns over road safety along Entebbe Road, one of the country’s busiest transport corridors, although no conclusion has been given regarding the cause of Friday’s crash.
