The body of the late Archbishop of the Orthodox Church Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga has September 19 morning arrived at Entebbe International Airport ahead of burial next week.
Metropolitan Lwanga’s body arrived back in the country aboard an Egypt Air jet MS837.
Lwanga passed on days ago in Athens, Greece where he had been flown for treatment.
Government Chief Whip Thomas Tayebwa and Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka were at Entebbe to receive the body of Metropolitan Lwanga — and so were Orthodox clerics.
The Orthodox Church leaders prayed for the body of the fallen cleric.
Metropolitan Lwanga will be laid to rest on Monday, September 20.
According to Attorney General Kiwanuka, President Yoweri Museveni will be the chief mourner.
