SIGH OF RELIEF as Uganda MP Reported Missing Found in Nairobi at His Kampala Home

Uganda MP David Wakikona has been found at his home in the capital Kampala hours after he was reported to have disappeared in Nairobi Kenya.

A former State Minister in charge of Northern Uganda and Trade, Wakikona had travelled back from Nairobi, leaving his colleagues concerned about his whereabouts.

His colleagues had even reported to Kilimani Police, saying Wakikona, the Bukigai County MP, had last seen boarding an Uber taxi and that he had not been seen again.

On Tuesday, hours after Wakikona was reported missing, Kilimani Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Andrew Muturi was quoted as telling Kenyan media outlets that operatives of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had established the whereabouts of the MP who hails from Bududa District.

“There was a missing person report filed at the police station and the DCI took over the investigations. He was found and has already returned to Uganda,” Muturi told Kenyan press.

Wakikona has also been quoted as telling a Ugandan news publication that he was in Kampala, with the media outlet reporting that the law maker sounded healthy and well.

But investigators are expected to quiz Wakikona on how and why he disappeared from his colleagues and returned to Kampala.
