Suspected UPDF officers have reportedly raided Lubowa Police Station, beating up commanders and other Uganda Police Force (UPF) soldiers.
Reports emerging in the evening of Wednesday, April 30, 2025, indicate that about 10 men suspected to be UPDF officers took part in the raid that left many in fear.
It is said that once they got to Lubowa Police Station in the capital Kampala, the suspected UPDF officers disarmed the officer in charge of the station and all the police officers at the station.
These police men and the officer in charge at the station were all detained by the suspected UPDF officers, reports further indicated.
It is also said that about a dozen civilians were also detained during the raid by suspected UPDF officers at Lubowa Police Station.
These civilians, reports further indicated, had rushed to Lubowa Police Station to either follow up on existing cases or report new ones.
Other reports claimed that the officer in charge of Lubowa Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Innocent Sunday, other police officers and some civilians had been taken to health facilities following the raid.
The reasons for the raid were yet to be revealed.
