Another minister in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government was at the weekend attacked by a fearless man.
Michael Okurut, 39, is accused of slapping Musa Ecweru, the Minister of State for Works and Transport.
On June 26, Ecweru attended mass at St Michael Catholic Church in Wera Sub County, Amuria District.
Doubling as the Amuria County MP, Ecweru was handed a hot slap as he made his remarks during the mass.
It is said that Okurut had walked to the altar, made the sign of the cross, before proceeding to where the minister was and slapping his ear.
The fearless man would have planted another slap on the minister’s face had he not blocked it in self defense.
It was at this moment that Minister Ecweru’s security team swung in action and arrested Okurut and detained on charges of assault.
Ecweru has since been quoted as saying that the man who slapped him is mad.
This is not the first time a minister in Museveni’s government is being attacked.
