Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK) Project lead marketer Balaam Barugahara had a tough time in Canada as protesters belonging to Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) confronted him in Canada.
Balaam, who is also a staunch supporter of President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and his ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), was one of the participants at the Canada NRM Convention.
On arrival at the Convention venue, Balaam was greeted by protesters holding placards and claiming that Bobi Wine was elected President of Uganda but that his victory had been stolen.
The messages on the placards were calling for the release of all political prisoners, including Kawempe South MP Muhammad Ssegirinya and Makindye West legislator Allan Ssewanyana.
They also emphasized their assertion that Ugandans were living in a tough economic and political situation, reportedly due to Museveni’s long stay in power and his policies.
Using the placards, the protesters also sought to tell the world that Uganda’s 2021 general elections were not free and fair.
As Balaam arrived for the convention, the protests chanted ‘shame on you Balaam! shame on you useful idiot!’ Gathering some sort of smile, Balaam clapped along the chants against him.
Later, Balaam, a wealthy radio owner, told his followers that he had had a good time with Bobi Wine’s NUP supporters in Canada.
“Having good time with our brothers and sisters of NUP In Canada. Let’s promote respect, tolerance and love wherever we go!!” Balaam said of the video.
Balaam is well known for defending both Museveni and his son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the commander of the UPDF Land Forces (and the man he badly wants to succeed his father). For example, Balaam has defended Muhoozi against claims that he is a drunkard. (Read Story Here).
