Selection Exercise for Senior One Class of 2025 Starts. Here's a Look at 2024 Cut Off Points for Uganda's Top Schools LIST: 230 Confirmed on Government Payroll as Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff in Education Institutions

Education Minister Janet Museveni

The selection exercise for Senior One Class of 2025 starts today. The Senior One placement exercise will run from January 30, 2025, at UMA Grounds, Lugogo, from 8 AM to 5 PM, and will end on Friday, January 31, 2025.

By the end of the exercise, hundreds of thousands of 2024 PLE candidates will be have been placed in secondary schools nationwide following last week’s release of Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results.

Thereafter, Senior One students will report to schools to join continuing students who will be already at their respective education institutions for two weeks.

“We expect First Term for the Senior One cohort of 2025 to commence on Monday the 17th of February 2025,” said Janet Museveni as she released 2024 PLE results in Kampala last week.

It has been widely observed that PLE 2024 results as released by assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) indicated a reduction in Aggregate 4s and Aggregate 5s as there seemed to be a tightening on the top aggregate scores and division one.

This might mean that the top schools will revise their cut off points to suit PLE 2024 performance. For example, schools which had insisted on 4s and 5s only may have to adjust a bit to fill their Senior One classrooms.
