A Seeta High School teacher was killed near the gate of Code High School in Mukono District where his wife is a teacher.
Identified as Ivan Oloya Demacris, the Seeta High School teacher met his death at about 1:30am on March 22, 2025 in Bajjo Cell, Nyenje Ward, Goma Division.
Oloya had been at Seeta High School for about a year, according to authorities at the education institution.
It is said that Oloya, 30, left Seeta High School Mbalala Campus and was headed to Bajjo where he stayed.
But criminals attacked and killed him at a place near the gate of Code High School where his wife Mercy Abbey is a teacher.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango has been quoted as saying that police canines helped in the arrest of at least five suspects.
These include casual workers Paul Kasumba, 21; Simon Mabale, 23; Simon Lukodda, 18; and another one aged 16. Another suspect is a mechanic named Tom Kibuuka, 38.
Detectives are still trying to investigate the motive behind the murder of Ivan Oloya Demacris.
His death comes weeks after a Seeta High student aged 16 died at the same school, with authorities there saying he was found hanging in a school dormitory.
Elsewhere, a university student died in a pickup truck accident during a guild campaign rally, while a college student, who had gone out to have found, was also killed in western Uganda. (See Details Here and There).
