Several reporters who knew him took to social media to share how saddened they were to lose such a promising young reporter.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Aloysious Atwine. We worked together at Urban TV Uganda before he joined NTV Uganda. I have been checking on him from day one at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital and we had high hopes for his recovery. You will be missed dearly. MYSRIP,” wrote Atwine’s former colleague Halson Kagure, who speaks for the hospital where Aloysius was being treated.
“We were the pioneers of PM Live at Urban TV. You’ve left a great void in our hearts, Aloysius Atwine. May your soul rest in perfect peace,” wrote Barbra Amutuhaire.
Aloysius Atwine will be laid to rest at his home in Bushenyi.
