Dickson Wasajja, a devoted supporter of opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye, and a former leader of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) UK Chapter, has died, a top official of the Najjanankumbi-based political party has confirmed.
Wasajja was pronounced dead at Mengo Hospital in Kampala on the morning of November 03, 2022, according to Harold Kaija, the FDC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administration.
D-SG Kaija said that Wasajja had been rushed to hospital on Wednesday, November 02, after jetting into the country. Hours later he was confirmed dead. Kaija did not reveal Wasajja’s cause of death.
“On a very sad note Dickson Wassajja a devoted of FDC, the UK Chapter, has passed on this morning at Mengo Hospital. He was hospitalised yesterday upon his arrival in the country,” announced Kaija.
FDC supporters and those who knew him have been hailing him for his contribution to efforts to push for good governance in Uganda, and for his dedication to the FDC struggle for a better country.
“This is heartbreaking! Dickson Wasajja, a loyal, and active member of the FDC-UK Chapter, passed on this morning at Mengo Hospital. Dickson, who has been living in the UK, was hospitalised yesterday upon his landing in the country. May the Lord comfort the family, friends and FDC,” wrote Nasasira Barnabasi Kifefe.
Richard Semitego said: “I am saddened to hear the untimely and sudden passing on of Omulangira Dickson Wasajja. My heart goes out to his family and the entire country – Uganda. Wasajja has been a strong advocate for Good Governance in Uganda.”
