A Daily Monitor editor has died, the leading daily has announced.
In a death announcement, Nation Media Group (NMG), which runs Daily Monitor, confirmed that supplements editor Henry Mulindwa had breathed his last in the morning of July 09, 2025.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Henry Mulindwa, the Supplements Editor at Monitor Publications Limited. He passed on today morning, Wednesday 9th July, 2025,” NMG announced.
“Our hearts go out to his family and friends. Burial details will be communicated in due course. We will miss you Henry, as a family of Nation Media Group Uganda. May his Saul rest in Eternal Peace.”
Tributes have been pouring in online from those who knew Henry Mulindwa.
“It’s still hard to believe you’re gone. From our side gigs, to the travels in China and South Africa, we shared so many amazing moments,” wrote former NMG reported Maurice Ochol, who has since joined the US army.
“I’ll always remember dropping you off at your village. You were more than a friend, you were family. I’ll miss you, bro.”
“If anyone wants to know the real meaning of death, Henry Mulindwa is an example Yesterday we were with him entire evening, this morning I sent him an email requesting editorial support since has been the supplement editor at Daily Monitor only to hear of his death,” wrote Henry K Kiyemba.
Mike Ssegawa wrote: “Henry Mulindwa, it’s been 18 years since I first met you at Sunrise Newspaper. An energetic, innovative, quick to learn Young man. You’ve been a good comrade. Rest in peace brother.”
“Henry Mulindwa! We met yesterday and you told me you were stronger than ever. You said you felt good and in high spirits. You said you wanted to pick my mind on something. I promised to get in touch on Friday. Little did I know it was our last conversation. Rest in peace, man,” wrote Wilfred Businge.
