Radio West Presenter Resigns to Focus on Rwampara East MP Election

Kenneth Kanyesigye, popularly known as Brother Kenneth (sometimes Brother Keno), has resigned his job at Radio West to focus on his Rwampara East parliamentary bid.

Kanyesigye aka Brother Kenneth has been at Radio West for about 15 years.

He has been hosting Muhuumuza program which runs on Radio West, a Vision Group station, from midmorning into the afternoon.

He has also been hosting Ndyamusiima nta? program on the same station every Sunday, with appearances on TV West, a sister station, also under Vision Group.

Before joining Vision Group’s Radio West, he had been a presenter on Top Radio Mbarara, a sister station for Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s Kampala-based media house.

Brother Kenneth has now hung up his boots.

“Today, April 30, 2025, marks the end of my journey with Radio West where I have served for 15 years,” he wrote.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank God for the Grace He has given me in these years working with this amazing company of Vision Group.”

On his last show, Brother Kenneth asked his colleagues at Radio West and his fans to forgive him where he might have fallen short.

The youthful presenter has thrown his hat in the ring for Rwampara East MP parliamentary seat.

For a few years until his resignation, Brother Kenneth Kanyesigye has been doing some ground work, attending community events in Rwampara East to popularize his bid.

In the 2021 parliamentary eledtion, independent candidate Julius Tusiime Karuhanga garnered 11,318 votes to beat Charles Ngabirano of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) who polled 9,331, Mugisha Aryatujuna of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) who got 240 votes, Justus Ayebazibwe of the National Unity Platform (NUP) with 228, Amon Ayesigomwe Rubarema of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) with 175 votes, and independent candidate Victor Kareebi who managed 91 votes.

Brother Kenneth Kanyesigye’s known competitors include incumbent Tusiime Karuhanga, Richard Rurangwa, and Charles Ngabirano.

He is also expected to seek the much coveted ruling NRM flag in the party primaries due this year.

Brother Kenneth joins other ‘journalists’ who have resigned to run for MP seats, including five from NBS TV, as well as government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo. (See Details Here and There).
