Uganda Police Force (UPF) has announced the postponement of the reporting date for recruit PPCs.
Months ago, police started the process of recruiting Probationer Police Constables (PPCs). Last month it released the list of successful candidates who are expected to undergo police training before being included on the payroll for the agency charged with keeping law and order in Uganda.
Police had also announced a reporting date and listed requirements successful candidates were expected to report with to police training schools.
But now, police has changed the date of reporting by at least three weeks.
Police did not give reasons for the postponement of the reporting date for recruit PPCs.
The recruits were expected to go for police training starting next week but police now says the recruits will report for training next month at several training schools across the country.
“On 27/06/2025, we invited the shortlisted candidates for Probationer Police Constable (PPC) course to report for training on 07 July 2025,” the Uganda Police Force said in a short statement seen by The Pearl Times.
“We wish to inform all shortlisted candidates that the reporting date has been postponed to Friday, 1st August 2025.”
