William Ruto, one of the four candidates Kenya’s hotly contested presidential election, has held a meeting with a team of election observers at his Karen office.
In his first statement since Tuesday August 09 election, Ruto confirmed that he had met with AU-COMESA Election Observer Mission.
That the observers were happy with Kenyans for the manner in which they conducted themselves in Tuesday’s poll.
“At the Karen Office, held a meeting with the AU-COMESA Election Observer Mission who congratulated Kenya and voters for a peaceful election,” said Ruto.
“The Mission is led by Ernest Bai Koroma, former President of Sierra Leone. Others are Domituen Ndayizeye (former President of Burundi), Mulatto Teshome (former President of Ethiopia) and Ambassador Marie-Pierre Lloyd.”
The meeting was attended by Kenya Kwanza principals such as Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, Justin Muturi and Ruto’s deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
Ruto is one of the four candidates in the race to replace Uhuru Kenyatta whose two five-year terms have come to an end.
The other candidates are Raila Amollo Odinga of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, David Mwaure Waihiga of Agano Party and Prof George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party.
