PHOTOS: Here’s What You Missed as Museveni’s Son-in-Law Odrek Rwabwogo, President’s Daughter Patience Celebrated 20 Years of Marriage

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and his wife, First Lady and Education Minister Janet Kataaha Kainembabazi, have blessed their son-in-law Odrek Rwabwogo and their daughter Odrek Rwabwogo in a ceremony to celebrate 20 years in marriage. 

Rwabwogo is a businessman and special advisor to his father-in-law Gen Yoweri Museveni while Patience Rwabwogo is the president’s second daughter and senior pastor at Covenant Nations Church

Odrek married Museveni’s daughter in the early 2000s and the couple celebrated their two decade anniversary this weekend in Kiruhura District.

During the celebration, Patience and Odrek renewed their marriage vows. Born again Bishop Joshua Lwere presided over the renewal of the marriage vows.

Museveni blesses the couple

The president saluted his daughter and son-in-law for being patient in their marriage. He also praised them for championing development in their villages and urged them to do more.

“I joined Mr and Mrs Odrek Rwabwogo as they celebrated their 20th marriage anniversary in Kiruhura District. I congratulate and thank them for being patient with each other,” said Museveni after the anniversary celebration.

“I also commend them for developing their home village and ask them to add more value to the area’s growth.”

On her part, Janet Museveni praised Rwabwogo for not betraying the vows he made with Patience two decades ago. She wished them well in their next phase of marriage.

“I truly thank God for bringing Patience and Odrek to 20 years of marriage. And I thank you, Odrek, for keeping your word of loving and taking care of Patience all this time. I pray for more beautiful years in marriage!” said the first lady and education minister.

Overjoyed Odrek and Patience Rwabwogo

Odrek Rwabwogo is a key figure in the politics of Museveni’s first family. For example, Rwabwogo’s name has always come out during the debate on the issue of Museveni’s succession politics.

But months ago, Odrek Rwabwogo gave his clear answer on reports that he was interested in succeeding his father-in-law Gen Yoweri Museveni in 2026. (Read Story Here).
