NRM MP Reveals ‘Museveni Minister Behind Speaker Anita Among-Moses Magogo Marriage Registration Saga’

A Member of Parliament from President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has alleged that a minister is behind a move that saw the registration of a customary marriage between Speaker Anita Annet Among and Moses Hassim Magogo. 

Documents shared online suggest that the registration of the marriage between Anita Among, who is also the Bukedea District Woman MP, and Magogo, the President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) and Budiope East MP, was revoked within 24 hours of its formalization.

Anita Among and Magogo are yet to officially speak out on the documents indicatingg the de-registration of their marriage.

Now, Kashambya MP David Kabanda has dragged a junior Museveni minister into the saga. Kabanda, the youthful and vocal first-time legislator, has also gone for Geoffrey Rwakabale, the Town Clerk of Makindye Division Urban Council.

Town Clerk Rwakabale is the man who wrote to the Registrar of Marriages at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) rescinding the registration of customary marriage between Anita Among and Moses Magogo.

According to Kabanda, Rwakabale has a concubine, who is State Minister hailing from the Busoga Sub region.

The Kashambya MP says the state minister, who he claims is brown in color, is the one fighting Speaker Among’s marriage.

Kabanda believes that the brown State Minister is using Rwakabale to fight ‘proxy wars.’

Declining to name the brown minister from Busoga, Kabanda wondered why the marriage between Anita Among and Moses Magogo would be of concern to him.

“Clerk Makindye Mr Rwakabaale Geoffrey your concubine the brown State Minister from Busoga shouldn’t use you to fight proxy wars,” wrote Kabanda.

“How does Rt Hon. Anita Among’s relationship/marriage concern you. Oyihireho ekishuba!”

This publication could not independently verify Kabanda’s claims as well as the documents indicating that the documents indicating that the marriage registration was revoked.

On Wednesday, it emerged that Speaker Anita Among-Moses Magogo marriage registration had reportedly ended in tears, less than 24 hours after being legalized. (Read Story Here).
