NRM issues apology after Tanga Odoi dismissed notice on speaker, deputy speaker expression of interest forms

Ruling NRM secretariat director or information, publicity and public relations Emmanuel Dombo has issued an apology after EC chairman Dr Fred Tanga Odoi dismissed as statement calling on speaker and deputy speaker aspirants to pick expression of interest forms and apply for the party’s endorsement.

A statement published online on May 04 had called on those interested in the speaker and deputy speaker jobs to seek NRM CEC’s backing through an application process.

But hours later, Tanga Odoi denied asking any candidate to apply.

Almost a day later, Dombo apologized over the statement, revealing that the party was working on guidelines to help CEC in choosing flag bearers.

“The NRM Secretariat through the Directorate of Legal Affairs and the NRM Electoral Commission is developing guidelines for the determination and/or election of the Office of the Speaker at National, City and Local Government levels for the consideration by the Central Executive Committee should need arise,” said Dombo.

“We regret any inconveniences the previous information may have caused. We shall keep you updated and posted of any new developments.”
