Norbert Mao to His Enemies: God Has Lifted Me Up; Fear Me or You’ll Soon Apologize to Me

Until July 2022, Norbert Mao was only the President General of the opposition Democratic Party (DP). Besides his appearances on the NBS TV’s Frontline Show, Norbert Mao was the only fighter in his one-man army against the people he accused of being opposition hypocrites. 

But for nearly four months, Mao has been the Minister in charge of Constitutional Affairs after accepting an appointment by President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, a man he has been opposing for decades, and the same man against whom he has stood in previous presidential elections.

By accepting Museveni’s appointment, Mao attracted a lot of criticism from sections of the opposition, some of whom had previously warned that the oracle of Gulu had been working with Museveni and his ruling National Resistance Movement to undermine the opposition, and that he was like a pumpkin, green outside but yellow inside. Green is the official color of the Democratic Party while yellow is associated with Museveni’s NRM.

Others argued that Norbert Mao had been cohabiting with Museveni’s NRM and that he had finally decided to formalize the political marriage. The appointment of Mao as minister was made public after he signed a cooperation agreement with Museveni. You can read the deal agreement, word by word, HERE.

Mao has now warned his enemies to start fearing the person the Lord has elevated. He reminded them that those who refuse to fear God’s chosen should start preparing their apology letters. “You have to fear the man who God has decided to lift up! Be ready with apologies,” wrote Mao.

It should be remembered that before Norbert Mao was appointed minister, Museveni’s son, tweeting General Muhoozi Kainerugaba had praised him as the best opposition leader, and as one with potential to succeed his father Gen Museveni. (See Details Here).
