In a major breakthrough, the Joint Security Task Team has arrested Taewaiko Dak Hussein, a former houseboy of the late UCU Dean Pamela Tumwebaze, in connection with her murder. Taewaiko Dak Hussein was found with Tumwebaze’s property at his hideout in Budaka District.
According to sources, the Saturday arrest was a result of thorough investigations, and authorities are now working to piece together the events leading to the tragic incident. As Taewaiko Dak Hussein is a former employee of the deceased, investigators are keen to understand his role in the crime.
The investigation into the murder of Pamela Tumwebaze, a former director of students’ affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), is being handled by a joint security task team.
Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Rachael Kawala has confirmed that this joint security team has “successfully arrested one of the key suspects.”
“The suspect was arrested today 14th February 2026, at his hideout in Budaka District, where he was found in possession of the deceased’s property, a critical piece of evidence linking him to the murder,” added Kawala.
“Preliminary findings further indicate that the suspect is a former house help to the deceased. Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and further updates will be communicated in due course as progress is made.”
