MUSEVENI CABINET 2026

Mzee Museveni Was Misled: Muhoozi’s Vigorous Reactions on Father’s Cabinet List, Consoles Kabanda and Todwong; Vows to Destroy Baryomunsi

First son and chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says Mzee Museveni was misled as he gives his vigorous reactions on his father’s cabinet list.

Muhoozi also questioned why his father had left out Okello Oryem, alleging that there was a plot to fight those associated with his Patriotic League of Uganda.

The first son was, however, happy with the appointment of Kiryowa Kiwanuka to the position of Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs. Kiwanuka has been transferred from the Office of the Attorney General, which has now been taken by Sam Mayanja.

“I didn’t see my big brother Okello Oryem in the cabinet? Surely can that be possible? Whoever is fighting us in these appointments is an enemy,” Muhoozi noted.

“I congratulate my brother Honourable Kiryowa Kiwanuka on being appointed as Minister of Defence. We shall work together. I thank Mzee for this good appointment. Asante sana Mzee.”

Muhoozi also explained why Kasambya MP and PLU secretary general David Kabanda missed out on a minister job. He consoled him and NRM secretary general Richard Todwong, predicting that both would get jobs at the same time.

“My young brother Hon. Kabanda is the General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda, a much more important position than being a cabinet minister. His job is to organise and mobilise the millions of young people in our country. Kabanda will get a ministerial job when Todwong gets one,” wrote Muhoozi.

“In PLU, we do not look for government jobs. Our primary interest is the transformation of our country and people.”

Interestingly, Justine Nameere, who was involved in an ugly war of words with Kabanda and was arrested but released on Museveni’s orders, was appointed minister. (See Details Here and There).

DESTROYING BARYOMUNSI

Muhoozi then suggested that Museveni could have been misled to reappoint Kinkizi East MP Dr Chris Baryomunsi a minister. Baryomunsi is the new Minister of Health, swapping with Lira City Woman MP Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, who is now the Minister of ICT and National Guidance.

“I think Mzee was given wrong information, in appointing Baryomunsi. He did not have all the facts,” wrote Muhoozi.

He recalled his war of words with Baryomunsi in which alcohol was thrown in the mix of insul+s, as reported Here.

He demanded an apology, short of which he threatened to destroy the fearless politician from Kanungu.

“Someone had the audacity of calling me ‘Peter Pan’ a few months ago. Then he abused my mother by saying she raised me badly. They will be hell to pay!” he further noted.

“Either that small boy Baryomunsi apologises to me or else I will destroy him. I’m done talking about a criminal. Let’s see how long this Baryomunsi survives. There are some people who think by being appointed Ministers that they are safe. They can run but they cannot hide.”
