A total of 82 security officers have been assigned the responsibility of ensuring safety and order before and during the burial ceremony of former Bank of Uganda (BoU) governor Prof Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile.
Mutebile died in Nairobi at the weekend. (Read story here, and a related one there).
A vigil was held at his Kololo residence on January 26.
On January 27, a special sitting of Parliament was held to pay tribute to Mutebile.
But the body of the former BoU governor was not brought to Parliament as expected. (Read story here).

Of the total budget, Shs6.4m will be spent on fuel for 12 pickups, five intelligence vehicles and 10 motorcycles. Diesel for the pickups, up to 960 liters, will cost Shs4.3m; 300 liters of petrol for intelligence cars will cost Shs1.5m while 100 liters of petrol for the motorcycles will cost Shs507,000.
Besides the budget for fuel for security vehicles, officers, including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), will get allowances to the tune of Shs125m.
For seven days, the RDC will get Shs160,000 per night, meaning he will earn Shs1.12m for one week.
A total of 164 officers will earn Shs96,000 per night for seven days, totaling up to Shs110m.
