Museveni's Lovely Message to Wife Janet on Her 74th Birthday

President Museveni with wife Janet Kainembabazi Kataaha

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa has sent a lovely message to his wife Janet Kataaha Kainembabazi as she celebrated her 74th birthday.

Born on June 24, 1948 in Ntungamo, Janet Kainembabazi married Museveni in 1973, some 13 years before he took power in 1986.

Museveni and Janet are blessed with four children: Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the current commander of UPDF Land Forces;  Natasha Museveni Karugire, Diana Museveni Kamuntu, and Patience Museveni Rwabwogo.

As she celebrates her 74th birthday today, June 24, Janet Museveni is receiving a number of good wishes from Ugandans who love and believe in her.  Museveni has saluted his wife for loving people and her God. He also prayer for more years for Janet, who is also the Minister of Education and Sports.

“I congratulate Maama Janet on reaching 74 years of age, and I thank God for her life. Thank you, Janet, for your love and commitment to God, our family and the people of Uganda,” wrote Museveni. “May He grant you many more years of health.”

With her husband in power for 36 years — and therefore the longest serving Ugandan leader in post-independent Uganda — Janet has been the most pronounced female figure in Museveni’s presidency.

She has been listed among the few members of the first family who are reportedly interested in succeeding Museveni. (Read Story Here).
