President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has renewed the contract of his sister Dr Violet Kajubiri Floerich as the deputy chairperson of the Education Service Commission (ESC).
Established by article 167 91) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, the Education Service Commission is responsible for advising the president in performing his or her functions in relation to Article 172 of the Constitution and on appointing all personnel in the education service and charged in developing, maintaining and improving the quality of those personnel and that of the service generally.
The commission recruits staff of the Ministry of Education and Sports Headquarters and all staff, teaching and non teaching staff, of post primary and tertiary institutions, except national universities.
Dr Kajubiri will serve as the ESC deputy chairperson for another four-year term. Also reappointed was Johnson Malinga who will remain a member to the Commission. Kajubiri and Malinga were reappointed and sworn in just hours after the expiry of their contracts.
Principal Judge Dr Flavian Zeija presided over the swearing-in ceremony for Dr Kajubiri and Malinga in Kampala on July 06.

Dr. Violet has a B.Sc. (Hon) – Makerere University Kampala, Conc. Dip Education (Bio/Chem) Makerere University, Master of Science – Hohenheim University Stuttgart and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) – Hohenheim University Stuttgart.
