Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, Uganda’s President and Commander in Chief of the national army, the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has announced two more promotions and appointments of senior officers.
Those promoted, according to Defence Ministry and UPDF Spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, are Paul Muhanguzi and Peter Akankunda.
Muhanguzi has been elevated from the rank of Colonel to that of Brigadier General. Akankunda has earned the same promotion.
Now Brigadier General Muhanguzi has been appointed the Second in Command of the Second Infantry Division.
On the other hand, Brigadier General Akankunda has been named the Second in Command of the First Infantry Division.
Brig Gen Kulayigye said Akankunda and Muhanguzi deserved their promotions and new roles.
“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the Senior Officers upon their well-deserved promotions and appointments. Alluta Continua,” said Kulayigye in a statement.
The two military officers were promoted a few days after Gen Museveni promoted about 500 UPDF Officers. (See Names of Senior Officers Promoted Here).
