At least three people are said to have sustained serious injuries on Monday following an accident involving President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s convoy.
The accident happened along the Northern bypass at around 11am. There are different versions of how the accident happened and what could have caused it.
Some reports suggest that a car in the presidential convoy knocked boda bodas, some of them carrying passengers.
Others claim that it was the boda bodas that rammed into the presidential convoy!
Yet other reports claim that a bodaboda carrying two passengers defied orders to stop as the presidential convoy passed, ramming into the convoy.
While some reports, particularly those spreading via social media claimed that the people involved in the accident had died, yet other reports said that the victims were still alive and receiving treatment for the injuries sustained.
These injured people are said to be receiving treatment at both Mengo Hospital and the Mulago National Referral Hospital where they were reportedly rushed.
