MUSEVENI CABINET 2026

Museveni Consoles Dropped Ministers With Presidential Advisor and Ambassador Jobs

President Yoweri Museveni has consoled dropped ministers with presidential advisor and ambassador jobs. And these dropped ministers were lucky to be consoled with these jobs.

After firing tens of ministers in a reshuffle, Museveni appointed at least four of these fired ministers as Senior Presidential Advisors.

“The following persons will be appointed as Senior Presidential Advisors in different fields to be communicated later,” announced Museveni on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

The former ministers who will now become senior presidential advisors are Hamson Obua who was hitherto Government Chief Whip. Obua, who is also the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) vice chairperson for Northern Uganda, lost his Ajuri MP seat to Fred Jalameo of opposition Uganda People’s Congress (UPC).

The list of former ministers consoled with presidential advisor jobs also includes Ruth Nankabirwa, the former minister of energy and mineral development.

It also includes Francis Mwebesa, who has been the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, as well junior minister in charge of investment Evelyn Anite.

Meanwhile, Museveni promised to appoint now former junior minister for northern Uganda Dr Kenneth Omona an ambassador.

The lists of Museveni’s most highly paid advisors are Here and There.

“Hon. Dr. Kenneth Omona has been transferred to the Diplomatic Service as Ambassador at a station to be communicated later,” the president announced.
