President Yoweri Museveni has appointed an education and skilling private secretary. Museveni named Jimmy Nambiro, hitherto an Assistant Resident City Commissioner (A-RCC) for Industrial Division of Mbale City, for the job of Private Secretary in charge of Education and Skilling.
Nambiro will be shifting his base from Mbale City to State House.
The appointment of Jimmy Nambiro as education and skilling private secretary was confirmed in a letter that State House Comptroller Jane Barekye appended her signature to on May 15, 2025.
“I am pleased to inform you that the Public Service Commission under Minute Number 631 of 2025 has directed that you be offered an appointment on local contract as Private Secretary Education/Skilling in the Public Service of Uganda,” the appointment letter read in part.
Nambiro was pleased to earn the appointment and confidence of Museveni.
“I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to take on this new role as Private Secretary to the President for Education and Skilling. I am honored and humbled by the trust and confidence President Museveni and Mama Janet Museveni, the Minister of Education, have entrusted me with,” Nambiro said in a statement.
“I will collaborate with all government entities to ensure the success and growth of the country through providing strategic leadership.”

Nambiro is a professional primary teacher. He has previously served as a head teacher of Covenant Day and Boarding Primary School, Bugangu Primary School, and St Peter COU Primary School, among other schools.
Politically, he previously held the position of NRM Media Coordinator for Butaleja District. He was also the Chairman of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) for the Bukedi sub region.
In 2024, he was appointed Assistant RDC for Butaleja District.
Months later, he was transferred to Mbale City as Assistant Resident City Commissioner (A-RCC) for Industrial Division.
